Private Company - IoT Critical Medical Logistics Solution

We partnered with a startup technology company with multiple streams of investment funding to consult on an Internet of Things project comprised of proprietary environmental sensors, communications systems and technologies, technology infrastructure, custom-built software, patent application submissions, and a commercialization strategy roadmap.

This solution provided never-before efficiencies, transparency, risk mitigation to clinicians and medical administration allowing them to focus on saving lives and improving patient outcomes. This platform has proven to reduce risks and provide significant cost savings to medical centers and health insurance companies. The platform solution had time-critical performance, security, and availability requirements that were successfully solved by the Karmup team.

Academic Institution - IoT Water Environment and Quality Solution

Karmup partnered with a private academic institution, working directly with the mechanical engineering and environmental sustainability departments on an Internet of Things project with proprietarily built sensors, communications systems, software, and technologies. We partnered with this institution to design, build, and deploy technology with the intent to gather immense volumes of environmental research data. Karmup assisted working with partnered research institutions to expand the deployment of the technology throughout the continent.

Additional scope added to the project was provided to assist with additional public, private and governmental funding awards. We also assisted in developing a commercialization strategy and roadmap.

Academic Institution - IoT Interactive Art Exhibit

Karmup was selected to partner with a premier private college, working directly with the mechanical engineering school and school of art to consult on an Internet of Things project that combined form, function, and artistic expression. This project was a unique and welcomed divergence from our typical projects. The art was a form of expression allowing the public to interact with the final art in a way that seemed natural and unscripted while ensuring interactive stability and dependability.

On a personal note, this was a super fun project working with faculty and students, combining artistic expression with technology and mechanical design.

Food Service - Inventory Temperature and Humidity Monitoring

Karmup team members partnered with another company and large food supplier, working directly with the cold storage and logistics divisions on an Internet of Things project with proprietarily built sensors, communications systems, software, and technologies. We partnered with this company to ensure compliance when storing and shipping temperature/humidity-critical food items to their customers. We developed testing strategies and requirements that informed the specific monitoring needs and reporting processes. Additionally, we provided the technology to track and validate these processes continuously. Our work allowed the company to reduce food loss due to environmental spoilage and increase their customer satisfaction by provided audit reports and fresher products. Our work took into consideration, external environmental and logistics details that were not within our clients’ control, to completely ensure the safety of the food being prepared for their customers’ patrons.

Medical Institution - Pharmaceutical Temperature Logistics Monitoring

Karmup partnered with a prominently recognized medical system, working directly with the pharmaceutical and logistics divisions on an Internet of Things project with proprietarily built sensors, communications systems, software, and technologies. We partnered with this institution to ensure compliance when shipping temperature-critical medications to their patients, unable to travel to pharmacies to acquire their medications. We developed testing strategies and requirements that informed the specific packaging needs and processes. Additionally, Karmup team members provided the technology to track and validate these processes continuously. Our work allowed the pharmacy segment of this healthcare system to obtain accreditation and compliance allowing them to ship temperature-sensitive medications on a larger scale with complete confidence. Our work took into consideration, external environmental and logistics details that were not within our clients’ control, to completely ensure the safety of the delivered medications to their patients.

Private Startup - B2B Sales team CPQ platform for Extended-Services

The Karmup team was selected to design, architect and build an incredibly complex and detailed many-to-many customizable machine warranty configure, price, quote (CPQ) platform. This required our team to understand complex industrial machine types down to the individual parts list level and build a platform easy and efficient enough to be used by massive global sales teams.

This project was particularly difficult given the almost unlimited possible industrial machine parts configuration options of deployed machinery. Solving the graphical design and user experience aspects of this platform was only one part of the project’s complexity. We also had to fully design the data modules to adapt to any possible future part list configuration, durability, longevity, and more. While solving those challenges, building a responsive, efficient, reliable, and resilient system that performs anywhere sales teams are deployed globally, including reduced-bandwidth areas in rural parts of the globe, accommodating even high-latency satellite connections. This was an incredibly challenging and intellectually enjoyable project!
